The Doctrines of Grace (cd)

"Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I was lost, but now I'm found; was blind, but now I see." How long has it been since you have been amazed at God's grace? When John Newton penned those words over 200 years ago he expressed a sentiment rarely heard today, for an appreciation of God's grace has been made difficult by the anthropocentric, humanistic preaching and teaching of our time. Man is honored at the expense of God's holiness and glory. A proper understanding of Scripture relative to God's grace, however, does not paint a complimentary picture of mankind, for it shows him to be spiritually bankrupt and incapable of any spiritual good. They also show God to be holy and in sovereign control of all events in this world, --even salvation. Why, then, would a holy God save a poor wretch like me? Because God is gracious! This study series looks at the fundamental doctrines of Scripture which support and define God's wondrous activity in salvation. When we gain a proper understanding of these doctrines, we will be led by a grateful, penitent heart, to proclaim that grace truly is amazing!
