We always appreciate responses, and we receive many.  The message from last week defining true faith evoked several.  We want to share them simply to underscore the importance of everyone’s determining if his/her faith is truly trust in Christ and to illustrate the joy that follows such a determination:

•    As a 76 year old bible believing, cradle to grave Catholic, this is the first time I have ever heard this question resolved in a manner that I can accept. I am now ready to climb that mountain with absolutely no trepidation whatsoever.  May our Lord God continue to abundantly bless your ministry.
•    Very gripping Dr. Lawrence. Wow, my hands started sweating thinking about being in that "REAL" situation.
•    I have been reading this series and it is very good.  I had an interesting discussion with a young man who checked me out at the grocery store a couple of weeks back. He asked me why I was out so late and I told him that I had just gone to the movie with my husband to see the new Narnia movie (new to me anyway). He told me his young daughter really loved the Narnia stories and didn't like the Golden Compass nearly as well. I said she was a smart girl and I expressed my concern about the author of “The Golden Compass" who is an atheist and has stated his desire to help rid the world of faith. I told him if he enjoyed the Narnia books that the books he wrote on spiritual matters were even better. He had not heard of any of those and I told him "Mere Christianity" was a great place to start. He was convinced that C.S. Lewis had only a death bed conversion to Christianity even though I told him that was not the case (I didn't want to make it an argument so I just listened). He said that he probably asked God to save him in his final hours just like many people do. "Just in case there is a God". I answered "But if you really want to have fun you can decide to accept Christ now and have a great life here as well as the one ahead!" He looked at me rather strangely and said good bye. It occurred to me that many people think of Faith as just an "Insurance policy" and do not grasp at all that Faith is not Faith if it is not a "leap"! I pray that this young man discovers that some day!  Wishing you all the best in Christ!
•    (This is a general comment on our ministry:)  Sometimes I think about the thousands of people you touch through your ministry and how seldom you might ever know the impact. This saddens me.  I need to let you know your labor in the Lord's work is important to me and people you may never know. Please know your devotionals do not stop with the reader. We continue your message with believers and those yet to believe.  Your efforts have really helped me through times of refinement and highlighted the joy of being known by Him.  Thank you for all you do. Know that I love you and pray for you.
